Royal seal of approval for police building (29th May 2008)
HRH Duke of Kent officially named a new building, on Feeder Road, Bristol, after Kenneth Steele CBE, KPM, who was the first chief constable of the amalgamated forces from 1974 to 1979.

HRH Duke of Kent is to officially name a new police building in Bristol this Thursday.

Deputy represents authority at Chief Constable Memorial Service (19th May 2008)
AVON and Somerset Police Authority Deputy Chair Councillor Ian Dewey attended a memorial service that commemorated the life of the Constabulary’s first Chief Constable, Kenneth Steele CBE KPM on Monday, May 19.
